ACTIVITIES We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year with the theme “25 years: walk through the past; look towards the future”. This nine-month celebration started in March 2007 and to culminate on December 2007. We aimed at leaping higher in providing services for women especially from the marginalized sector. The culminating event is a benefit concert featuring mainstream artists/actors, university-based cultural groups, alternative bands and artists. Proceeds from the concert will be utilized for the Literacy and Numeracy (LITNUM) Program of CWR. LITNUM is an education program for 150 illiterate women in the urban poor communities in Metro Manila. LITNUM service is one of the major projects of CWR that started in 2003 and implemented in seven areas of Metro Manila and two Aeta communities in Central Luzon. LITNUM is carried out with a very limited support from Europe-based development organizations. With meager resources, LITNUM has served a number of women and thus, we continue to seek out for other means to sustain the project |
